These are the fundamentals of a dignified life. And the crazy part? There are plenty of resources for everyone, the issue lies in the distribution.

These are the fundamentals of a dignified life. And the crazy part? There are plenty of resources for everyone, the issue lies in the distribution.
It’s time we come together as a community and help our brothers and sisters. To care for one another as family… because we are all part of this earthly family. When one of us is nourished, we all are nourished.
Your support allows us to feed families facing food insecurity locally and abroad. Donations and auction purchases help provide groceries, warm meals, temporary shelter, school support, and micro-business investments that give families a chance to stand on their own. Every dollar goes directly to people who need help right now.

Nourish the People is a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity—both in our local communities and across the world.
Our work adapts to the real needs of the people we serve: sometimes it’s providing fresh groceries, sometimes it’s helping secure safe shelter, sometimes it’s offering education, resources, or seed funding for a small micro-business to flourish.
To date, we’ve been honored to extend support throughout Oakland and other regions of California, as well as communities in Haiti and Guatemala.

With the help of our donors and volunteers, Nourish the people has been able to make a positive impact in the lives of hundreds of people, and we'd like to grow to thousands.
Nourish the people - Building a Better Future
It's time to come together as a community and take care of one another. When you see someone who needs a little extra support, reach out your hand... I met Rachel through the Buy Nothing group when she posted that she was in need of food for her 5 children. We have since become friends and she just needs a little community support.
She is a single mom to 6 children (5 live with her). Two are autistic. She has stomach cancer, diabetes, and has been in and out of the hospital for the past 4 years. She used to be a bus driver for AC Transit before she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2007. She is overwhelmed and is asking for help from the community.
She would like to use this money to buy shoes and clothes for her kids, get her car fixed, get caught up on bills, breathe, and get healthy! The HEALTHY part is, of course, the most important... and by relieving some of the financial stress, some love and care, we can help make this a reality for Rachel and her family.
